Well my essay about my mom was today's winner, I feel so honored and SO excited for my mom to get the great prizes and everything! When I was listening to the radio at work this morning I forgot they were reading those at 8:20 and they started talking about it then said, today's essay was submitted by Michelle (I was like, oh?) about her mom Julie (double OH!) and when they started reading I started getting all choked up realizing it was indeed my essay!! Unfortunately, my mom didn't even get to hear the broadcast since her work plays stupid piped in muzak from like the 80's at least! But, I emailed her the essay and called her to tell her about it!
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to all the mom's out there!
Here's my essay...
Now that I am a mother, I can fully appreciate my mother. I always knew I had a wonderful mother and we’ve always had a terrific relationship. But, when I became a mother I looked to her even more for advice and appreciated the job she has as a mother even more. The worries, fears and anxieties and the most love you could ever feel for someone comes when you become a mother. She’s shown her love for my brother and I all our lives, always knowing what’s best for us and helping us make the good decisions in our lives. She has given us an example of how to treat people, to be honest and to be proud of who you are. I’ve always felt prepared to be a great mom because I knew I had a great example in my mother. My mom always has worked hard to take care of us and instilled values in us that I plan to pass on to my daughter. Family is always number one for her, always has been and that always has been and will be for me as well. I’m always looking for ways to try and let her know what a wonderful job she’s done and continues to do with us as a mother and now a grandmother and this Mother’s Day I wanted to take this opportunity to try and give her some unique recognition and pampering she deserves!
Listen to the radio broadcast!

That's wonderful - the more I think about having kids the more I realize what a good mother my mother was, and how much I have to live up to. Happy Mother's Day on Sunday!
