Manic Monday...lies

I'd be lying if I said there's no hint of Terrible Two's in our little monkey. We attended baby shower and bridal shower this weekend. Saturday went pretty well, we had Play Doh and some new toys to play with and I did let her run around the room a little bit so she wasn't so antsy sitting in her chair for almost 3 hours. Sunday, she was a little more antsy for day two on the shower circuit, the outside door to the parking lot was open so I was not about to let her run around again in case she'd bolt for the door faster than I could catch her. She went between sitting by me and sitting by grandma, then would get this look like I captured in the photo below as she tried to make a run for it.

I'd also be lying if I said I didn't use some bribery which included a little candy as well as some threats of a spank on the hiney if she didn't listen and behave. Sometimes, it's all that works, other times she's sweet as can be and listens quite well. But I'd say the photo pretty well captures her attitude yesterday for the majority of the time.

Oh, I so know that look. They're all about testing boundaries at that age, and boy do they!
Sounds like she wasn't too much trouble for the showers. And at that age, it's a lot about ditraction and a couple of choices (be good or a spanking!) It will get better! It has taken a while for us to be able to go to church and actually be able to listen to some of it!

She does look like she's up to no good but with a face like that, how could you not give her a big hug and forgive her all?

Ahhh, motherhood - ain't it grand??

Priceless! That is stinkin' adorable, anyway you look at it, and definitely worth keeping so that you can show her future husband one day... "Seee, you're not the first person to get THAT look." ;)
